I am not really sure how to use the gemini space, as most people are on the http web, and to let them see my capsule, I would need to convert them to using a gemini browser first...

You found this place again :)

I guess to start out, I will just point them directly to some proxy. And maybe, some time, set up a webpage with a manual on why to get into gemini and how. 路 2 years ago

Just show them how to use a Gemini client wired up to Duckling Proxy, then they never have to visit the hairy, fluffy, sticky, icky web again. Gemtext all the things. And wear a hair shirt while doing it 路 2 years ago

You can see how I'm handling it here: http://lyk.so

For those without Web browsers: I explain that I only serve content over Gemini, and include links to https://gemini.circumlunar.space/, a few browsers, and a Gemini proxy (https://proxy.vulpes.one/gemini/). 路 2 years ago

I am for the Gemini only approach... 路 2 years ago

If there's specific people that only use the web who you want to see your capsule, one option might be to point them to wobbly. It's a gemini browser they can use from their web browser. https://warmedal.se/~wobbly/ 路 2 years ago

Publishing to Gemini doesn't make sense if you care about audience size or "reach." It's a better experience overall for many reasons, but building a huge readership isn't one of them. 路 2 years ago

There's two approaches. You can publish to both places (I do this) or just accept that you will have a smaller, though higher quality audience by publishing only to Gemini. 路 2 years ago
