What's going on?
Reading (computers): The Little Schemer. It's fun! And weird. Big "Poignant Guide to Ruby" energy, although it's much older so I suppose the relationship is probably the other way around.
Reading (fiction): Just finished "All Tomorrow's Parties" which was great. It's funny how William Gibson started setting his books closer and closer to the present as he's written more of them.
The 90's idea of what the near-but-far-enough future would look like is an interesting take.
Building: I made up a ribbon microphone. The motor was from a kit mic website, and I put it in a custom enclosure of questionable quality. It sounds good though.
It requires a lot of gain so I'm looking into building a Fethead clone with some MOSFET or JFET parts. I thought I had some "in stock" but I think I left them at the (permanently closed) office.
Thinking: About the history of computing and my place in it. Okay, that sounds grandiose, more like "what am I doing with computers and am I making things better or worse or does any of it even matter?"
