AS LIMERICK are set to take on Cork later this Saturday
evening at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, those who are travelling to the
game should expect traffic delays.
Delays have been reported in Mallow and Buttervent Co Cork as fans make
their way to the match.
A crowd of 45,000 is expected to attend the highly anticipated third
round clash of the Munster Championship between the two rival sides.
Supporters have been urged to arrive early to enjoy musical
entertainment by the High Kings from 5:30pm ahead of the 7pm throw-in.
An Garda Síochána is reminding fans that there is no dedicated parking
at the stadium, however, car parks in the city centre are open and
within easy walking distance.
Alternatively, a free shuttle bus service starts at 5pm. The buses are
stationed opposite Goldbergs Bar on Victoria Road and they run every 20
minutes to and from the stadium and the service will run 90 minutes
after full-time.
Other public transport options include the 202 and 212 bus routes,
which stop at Ballintemple on Blackroad Road near the pharmacy.
Motorists parking in the city centre are being reminded that it is
unacceptable to block entrances to housing estates, business premises
or parks, footpaths, disabled spaces, bus stops or areas which may
restrict access for emergency services.
Coaches/buses are advised to park on the Boreenmanna Road faced for the
South City Link Road for after match priority.
