1. What are you doing right now?

I am listening to "Black is the Color" by Isobel Anderson and Ruby Colley. I just got home from rehearsal. I am eating tofu that my friends made.

2. What was the dominant emotion you felt this week?

I felt busy this week. I had a lot of rehearsals.

3. What do you like or appreciate about yourself?

I like that I have a hard time keeping a straight face. I am very quick to smile or laugh.

4. Are you happy with your work?

I feel better about my scientific work this week than last week. I feel positive but unchanged about my artistic work this week.

5. When this week did you feel the calmest and most relaxed?

I felt most relaxed when I almost fell asleep in my partner's lap in the sun on Wednesday.

6. When this week did you feel the most anxious?

I felt the most anxious when I received an upsetting text message.

7. Are you holding onto thoughts you should let go of?

I am holding onto the thought that an unresponded-to communication indicates some sort of hatred towards me. We all have busy lives. Texts are not immediate.

8. Do you have someone you trust?

Yes. I am thinking of a friend I trust who I had a long car talk with just now.

9. How do you feel about your support circle?

I have named to myself three people, and my partner, who I can talk to if I need support. I have asked for support this week.

10. What was the best thing that happened this week?

Getting to play part of my original song on the stage was very nice.

11. What was the worst thing that happened this week?

I was really looking forward to a call and had a disappointing experience.

12. Do you have plans for the future?

In a few months, I am going to be trained in some new tasks at my science job.

13. How is your balance between isolation and exertion?

I am slightly over-exerted but I have found ways to hold isolated space for myself.

14. What did you learn about managing your life this week?

I learned that it's okay to use options like the free grocery service at the park. I would not have broccoli otherwise, which I am very excited about.

15. What color best describes your mood?

Right now my mood is a heathery purple.

16. What makes you hopeful?

Being with my partner makes me hopeful, that even if things get hard, we may have each other.

17. What makes you happy?

This week, dancing has made me happy. I may not be good at it but I like wiggling around to music.

18. Did you feel included or excluded this week?

I think I should have wanted to be more included this week, but insofar as I needed space, I don't mind.

19. What makes you doubt yourself?

I saw a photo of my hair (or lack of it) and that made me doubt my worth as a partner and artist. That's silly but that's what happened.

20. Did you reach any goals this week?

This week I tried some new artistic work (directing) and it was okay! Nobody died. I also finished "Son of the Storm" by Suyi Davies Okungbowa)

21. When did you have fun this week?

A lot of little funny moments at the theater with my new friends.

22. What was the biggest challenge you faced this week?

I had a very long day on Wednesday being outside, but I changed locations a few times and read my book ("The Three Body Problem" by Cixin Liu).

23. Do you welcome life or feel you’re fighting against it?

Both. I feel like I'm gearing up to fight in the tidal wave of anti-trans policy. But I welcome life and feel even more grateful for it while it lasts.
