This is my last post.

What Gemini needs.

1. Everything Gemini-first.

2. Gemini has TLS, so no more logins via email or HTTPS.

3. A pastebin serving as a simple code repository.

4. A more fully featured Reddit-like service enabling better content discovery and conversations.

5. A hack around the 700 character limit. (I don't want to hear you crying.)

6. A developer ecosystem built around standard functions. (As described in my post about Lagrange.)

7. Hack to facilitate large file transfers. (It's not hard. I've already got ideas; see point 4.)

8. Markdown.

A resolution: I'm not posting anywhere but on my own services. It's ride or die. See you on the other side.

8. Markdown

No, but I really miss the native table markup. This is the greatest office invention for classifying and visualizing data. Otherwise, scientists on Gemini will not be too comfortable. ยท 1 year ago

Point #1/#2 : I guess. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€

Point #4 : Algorithms content discovery is my single greatest dislike of Reddit and the Internet in general. I rather find it myself or not. Not be spoon feed.

To each their own I guess, but "content discovery" is a major turn off for services for me.

Point #5/#7 : Isn't this what Titan is for?

Point #8 : Absolutely not. The minimal markdown that Gemtext brings stikes a pretty good balance for the medium. I too once thought full markdown was a good idea until I mocked something up and the inline styling just didn't feel right. ยท 1 year ago
