After spending a week in bed with high fever, constant
coughing and a throat that feeled like someone got medieval
on it with a blowtorch i am now halfaway back to normal
(still coughing, and deaf on one ear... but my doc is
positive it will correct itself).
Well, i was quiet shocked about this whole xz security
incident, and the implications that has. How many similar
attacks will never be discovered? On what a powderkeg are we
sitting? Was it a state actor or 'just' some criminal? I am
pretty sure the next weeks months will be interesting...
While lying in bed and not feeling THAT miserable i toyed a
bit around with Chatgpt and Copilot... well, what can i
say... in a way its really fascinating and i am sure it will
have an big impact as an lever for creativity. I mean, yeah,
its easy to tell an AI "draw me a cute cat", and maybe the
cat will indeed have the right amount of legs and perhaps it
will indeed look cute. But was it the image you envisioned
when you made the request? I think it will be intersting to
explore ways in which you can bring the AI to create exactly
what you wanted. Its like having an enormous powerfull REPL
for nearly every task. I really like the idea...
