Feedback from blogging

I post stuff in lots of places on the Internet. Email replies to things I've blogged are the highest quality feedback I get, by a wide margin. I don't mean that to disparage Mastodon replies at all! It's just that:

• Emails tend to come from things I've published long in the past, not my whim of the moment.
• The readers usually found it from deliberately searching for it, not from me waving it in front of them.
• The format is much more conducive to long conversation.

It doesn't come frequently, but when it does, it's invariably of the form "hey, I had the exact same experience as you did in that thing you wrote 3 years ago. I have some questions, and some ideas!" It makes my day.
