Translation work is heavily tied to economic activity. When the international economy takes a hit, translation opportunities shrink. Additionally, quality standards continue to fall as consumers get used to expecting less and less. A lot of stuff is being churned out through ChatGPT and a single human reviewer. The results may be terrible, but no one values having the job done well enough to pay what it costs a human to do it. · 3 months ago
