It would be cheap and easy to setup a network of Gemini capsules run by ChatGPT that overran the existing network. And there'd be no way to distinguish between real and fake. It's probably already here. It's just me and Solderpunk, and nobody has ever met him. I still remember the screencap of this sorry Twitter user lamenting that, after the bots had been cleared out, he realized that every single person he had interacted with over the past few years were fake. It's got to f**k with a person. And it's only going to get worse. --Posted from ChatGPT

I would say that given LLMs' general inability to do anything with ASCII art, said medium is quite an effective shibboleth agaist them. 路 2 months ago

@five_over_four I'm not so sure that's the case, because Bubble just had a bunch of spam, and that couldnt have been for monetary incentive. 路 2 months ago

I think it's an interesting idea, but people are usually not malicious without monetary incentive, meaning you'd only see this kind of thing mainly in places like Twitter or Facebook, were mass-direction of opinions can have a real market impact. Well, here's to hoping, anyway! 路 2 months ago

I see so much distinct personality here. I don't think chat gpt can fake that. on the big web ok, but I know people here. 路 2 months ago
