@krixano Yeah def, I feel that. The potential for abuse increases in the event someone makes a song public j to share something that could prolly be found on youtube anyways.

Seems like it'd require a way to detect if a song someone tries to publish is from a copyrighted or unique source, preventing them from being able to, which i'm sure is even more trouble than j trying to figure out how to detect and prevent duplicate uploads to save space. · 2 years ago

@superfxchip I'm not sure about all of the legal stuff right now, but I think there shouldn't be much to this because if an artist were to upload their music for distribution perposes, they wouldn't then turn around and sue me. The only thing I would have to worry about is people uploading stuff they don't have the rights to (like if some random user uploaded a Justin Bieber song *for distribution*, as if they created the song, for example). Then I would have to comply with any DMCA takedown requests, which should be pretty simple to deal with. This solely applies to distribution, not to hosting of a private music collection. Hopefully this makes sense. · 2 years ago

Right right j noticed now too tryna see if it shows up via another certificate over mobile. Gonna keep it up for posterity reasons, hopeful for once this becomes reality. Would that mean you'd have to hit up (CC) requirements over any content uploaded if you do decide to dive into a music artist direction? · 2 years ago

Ah, sorry, maybe the capsule wasn't completely clear. Currently, all music uploaded to auragem music is private to the user that uploaded it - this is due to legal reasons, since I cannot distribute copyrighted music without permission, but I can host music that a person owns as long as it's not distributed. This means you can't share links to music just yet.

However, in the future I am considering a way to allow people to publish their own music to auragem as a way to distribute it. This must necessarily grant auragem a license to distribute the music (without charging users), although this license could be revoked at any time. · 2 years ago
