The value of games.
How to figure out the real estimate value of a game? There are so many websites that sell games, and some prices are just rediculous. i'm trying to locally trade games, music and movies mainly to grow my music collection, and to find a new home for records that i have multiple copies of, and i'm looking if i can trade games as well. But then i need to have a reliable source to estimate a market value. Does anyone have a good sourse

@maxheadroom Since I saw you mention Dutch in another thread, I'd definitely check out marktplaats.nl if you're trying to figure out the value of something. It's going to be a lot more relevant for you than ebay I think. :) · 8 hours ago
@ruby_witch, i'm also on a transtion path. I used to buy small batches, and then sell that what i don't want in my record collection. Nowadays i have so many records and i see that lots of gamers start to gain interest in records. But due to resession they don't have much cash, so if i can find a way to trade records with games then thats fine with me. But these kids probably want to dump crappy games. And i need to find a fair way to trade with them. I don't need to make profits, i just want to build a healthy eco system so that i can also trade games with people who want games and have cool records that i can use. · 1 day ago
Unfortunately, we're well past the Price Guide era of trading collectibles. The only real arbiter of value is Ebay's history of auction closing prices for whatever you're trying to look up.
If you're trying to trade things locally rather than online, there's really no way to know what something is "worth" in your area unless you're able to find the same item on Craigslist or something similar.
I used to run a comic book store and I set all of my old comics at the same flat price to avoid bothering with this. Does that mean that some people got what they thought was a good deal for some older books? Probably. Does that bother me at all? Nope. · 1 day ago
