Kombucha Recipe

Here's a simple kombucha recipe that I've been using for the last 3 years.

First Fermentation

Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil, then turn off heat.
Put 3 tbsp of black tea into the hot water. Steep for 5 mins.
Add 1 cup of sugar into the tea.
Put 8 cups of cold water into the 1-gallon brew jar.
Pour the tea into the brew jar.
Make sure the temperature doesn't exceed 86F.
Add the SCOBY in.
Let it ferment for around 5 days.

Second Fermentation

Fill your bottles with around 1/10 juice of your choosing (I personally love lemon, grapefruit, and blueberry). Add some sugar or honey if you prefer as well.
Let it sit for around 3 days.
Move it to the fridge.
