I wonder how much time and energy is wasted on web development because of endless, usually pointless, frontend churn? This is what burned me out. I'd rather write a simple program or script that respects the privacy of its users and retains its usefulness for 20+ years than rewrite yet another marginally useful, surveillance-capitalist web app in whatever the flavor of the week happens to be.
