None of my friends really use linux so I mostly use whatsapp but xmpp looks great.
I feel you dude. Only a small subset of my friends use xmpp.
Right now i run whatsapp, signal, matrix, telegram, xmpp, instagram, irc for regular communication with specific types of people.
