Weekly Update: Writing and Blender

Just a very short update this week. I almost forgot writing it.

Physics

Last week I reported that I felt stuck with my uni project, so I took action: I went and talked to someone about it. They gave me advice, but I think just being listened to helped the most. The next day I took it upon myself to go to university at 8am just to work, and miraculously I managed to stay focused for several hours and write! I did not quite manage to keep that momentum going for the following days, but with a fresh new week starting tomorrow I hope to regain it.

Not physics

Blender is one of my favorite pieces of software. I'm not a professional but I'd like to get into it more as a hobby. Today I followed a tutorial series [1] about geometry nodes, a new and powerful feature. They are a lot of fun to use! You can easily create abstract art with them, and with more experience you can procedurally generate objects, buildings, landscapes, animations... The mathematician in me likes the idea that instead of hand crafting one individual instance of some object, like a sofa, you could instead find a "general solution" to the whole category of sofas. Maybe I'll post some of my results next week.
