3D printing ghost charms

2023-10-04

It's the spooky season and I got in the spirit by firing up the 3D printer to make some lil ghost charms!

It's neat how fun a circle atop an arc of a tangent and six deliberately organized straight lines with some Bézier eye-holes can be. I made a few different variations; at first too thick, then a couple adjustments for the key-chain/earring/necklace hole.

I used SolveSpace to slap it together real quickly one morning and then tweaked the radius and extrusion thickness to make the tweaks I wanted over the course of a few days/prints. If you download the .slvs file and open it in SolveSpace you could remix my design, move some lines around, add a mouth, arms? Or just File > New and make your own fun 3D thing.

download the .slvs file (228KB)

or download the .stl (25KB)

It's also #looptober so I've been making some musical loops 🎵 When the month is through I'll compile them all together but for now please enjoy the first track and this photo of many ghost charm prints along with some cool bigger ghost models that I didn't design but really like.
