I've been checking Facebook, rarely a good idea. But. Yesterday I see one of my old friends from the journalling era ask her filter: _who'd be interested in a WhatsApp chat?_
By the end of the day there's two dozen of us in a chat going 88 mph and by the next morning I realize that N., who has an uncommon name (well, in North America) and who takes some of the most gorgeous photos I've ever seen, is the same N. I used to talk to years ago. On LiveJournal and on web boards and on AIM.
Also present: one of my oldest friends, who found me 25 years ago via ICQ's insane search-by-age-and-gender feature. We've never met. Will we ever? I don't think it matters. We live 2300 km apart. We always pick up where we left off.
There's always hope. To reconnect with old friends and the people who make you happy. The last two months online better than the last twenty years.
