	Gday Replying too :-
[Off Topic] Discussing how to have communities
without going back to something http/s based (easrng)

Time to bring back usage of older protcols
	- FTP
	- Newsgroups
	- Zip/rar/ file.diz / readme.txt

	- Podcasts saved in mp3/ogg/vorbis
	which are downloaded via wget

	- Pictures batch downloaded
	(doesnt comic formats do this?)

	- Recipies and non drm e-books
	downloaded

	Migration away from Mainstream/cloud/public dns
using tor, opennic, non standard IP/DNS services

Can any of the Gemini Client support using
	- wget
	- youtube-dl
	- claws-mail
	- gftp
	- p7zip/unrar
from links on gemini pages ?

Does anyone support migrating away from Corporation and goverment DNS mainstream
over to OpenNic only or Gemini having its own DNSNIC system that you can
opt into/sign up with?
do we have to limit our commications to standard http domains/dns systems ?

One cool thing to do would be get the person to leave a comment by
 	- typing a text file, it being compressed, then emailed to gemini person
via a script - eg load nano/xed/leafpad (or gemini client text box)
type in 1 page or 1 paragraph of text , save as text file, X text file compressed,
X file then emailed to X

or voice comment - load arecord for 2 minutes to record voice feedback,
compress from wav to vorbis, email that vorbis file

By using email via pop3/smtp/etc and non standard DNS your migrating away
from people using free emails such as protonmail/hotmail/gmail/etc

Could Gemini be adapted to work with BBS software ? Or bbs software
adapted to work with Gemini
Ive been seeing some traction with small niche communities going back to
telnet bbs's for commications
and disussion without the censorship online via http/https

        Regards,
        Charliebrownau

Please not FTP:

Why not e.g. SFTP?

(Also, please consider trimming your replies to not include text
you're not directly responding to.)
