This was a strange and deep rabbit hole. While testing my search engine, I found this. http://www.wild-seven.org/ It linked to this: http://www.zeruda.org/, and this http://ohmydarling.org/, and there's this https://psyche.nu/ ... there's even more if you poke around. It's the first time in a while I've felt like the Internet is gonna be ok.

@kevinsan @smokey The index is really limited for the time being though. Like you can find some stuff, but it's out of only like a million documents. Should be back to full speed in a few days. :-) 路 2 years ago

@smokey it's been available to use for ages https://search.marginalia.nu/ - there's a Gemini version too, I think. 路 2 years ago

The design of those sites is absolutely beautiful. It's not the bland minimalism of modern website, but nor is it the epic insanity of most "retro-style" sites. It seems to be somewhere between, where artistic individualism is expressed in a subtle way. 路 2 years ago

Any plans to let us ever test out your search engine one day? Im really into wierd and obscure websites so it sounds really interesting 路 2 years ago

@maria Yeah I know, right. What's most surprising is how much of it appears actively maintained. I thought for sure this stuff would be extinct. 路 2 years ago
