Scrambler rider stopped by Limerick gardai suspected of transporting drugs

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after gardai seized a significant

quantity of drugs when they stopped a scrambler bike which was being

driven in a dangerous manner in Limerick city.

The user was arrested after members of the Community Policing Unit

attached to Henry Street garda station intercepted the scrambler after

encountering it while on routine patrol.

In a post on social media, a garda spokesperson said: "The driver was

processed for Drug Driving and found to be carrying a significant

quantity of suspected crack cocaine and heroin believed to be destined

for supply."

They added that the scrambler bike was seized and that further analysis

of a blood sample provided by the rider is awaited.

The suspected drugs have also been sent for analysis.
