objects to humans being equated to computer game non-player-characters (NPCs). And it is an important objection. On two levels. Humans are (not supposed to be) programmed, predictable, and repetitive. Humans SHOULD NOT behave as if they are programmed, predictable, and repetitive ... in spite of pushback, differences of opinion, and evolving information.
It is reasonable, IMHO, to say that too many live down to NPC status.
