- 2 lbs - ground beef, browned [1] - 2 - onions, chopped [2] - 2 - green peppers, chopped [2] - 28 oz can - can tomato sauce - 8 oz can - tomato sauce - 1 c. - long-cooking rice, uncooked [3] - 1 c. - water - 2½ t. - chili powder - 2½ t. - salt - 2 t. - Worcestershire sauce
[1] draining is optional
[2] same or smaller than diced tomatoes
[3] long-cooking rice means eg brown rice
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker.
Veggie on bottom, meat on top.
Do NOT stir.
Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours,
or on high setting for 3 to 4 hours.
Stir halfway thru.
Serves 6.
rice did not cook to completion when stirred at very start.
check whether can be cooked by placing at bottom and stirring midway, otherwise pre-cook.
was too meaty, perhaps cuz walmart only carries above 2 lbs ground beefs and i used the whole 2.45 lbs.
retry with only 1 lb.
