Exacerbate

my one great fear is that time will fail
the veil of sweat across my palm
will skip upon leather, fumble with a buckle
slow, extenuating burn
cauterized third eye, in like a penny
out like a pie - that I'll be too slow
somewhere riding neuron's cluster
temporal solicitude, just one blink outside
have that thirty-second of a second
in which I know

my one great fear is that time will fall
contemplative hungry languor
chewing over instance, mulled caveat
some moral sixty four thousand dollar
one sixty fourth of moral's dollar
and I will be too slow
somewhere shattered instant
cognizant compression, impatient reminder
fast as you are, there's another your master
and I will know

my one great fear is that time will fail
the phial of my essence supersaturated
cacophonous compressed, far gone
under-hearing yearn
shock-dried comprehension lied
I'll see the shell, the world stood still
somewhere beyond distance
hesitation attenuated, become resistance
in the cell a wanton hunger, I should have killed
and I will know
