navigating daily operations
occasionally reads as that challenge
where one of the wee feet for the stove grill
has dropped out and fallen in beside the stove
so the entire stove needs to be extracted
without breaking the gas line
from its enclosure

cleaning must then occur
because one discovers the grease
missed on occasion from that careful operation
dripped down the side, which black won ��t hide
thus setting up for planting one ��s knee on the foot
uttering  �� hah, I have found it, and it ��s wet  �� politely
because family ��s still in for the holidays
weirded out by random wound care

discovering later
stove back in place
that the geometry of the cavity
where metal inserts into metal
has expanded, telltale clink of that bit
hopping back down over the edge
after cleaning

pull stove, big magnet this time
finding the widget, trying to wodge it
back in place, finally folding aluminum foil
left over from cleaning the grill assembly
in around the post, and saying a word
when uncle Borb helps with the weight
just plain crushing someone

not ungrateful, Borb, just profane
as I wasn ��t expecting the stove to move
since you ��d approached so strong
and silent

they ��re not a bad person, Borb, but the name
combined with general bleeding and frustration
makes it hard not to laugh, and blame

thankfully, leftovers
in nearly any operation
make everything better
