Apparently the UK wants to switch back to the imperial system of mesaurement. It's like they tried being part of Europe for a few years just to see what it would be like and then decided they didn't like it.

The whole anglosphere uses the English/Imperial system to some degree. Road signs in Britain have been using miles this whole time, Brits will give you their height and weight in English units, they buy beer in pints, etc etc. The US is even technically a metric country too, there's a lot of misconceptions and memes about this (it's a particular pet peeve of mine) 路 2 years ago

@reidrac You were probably right first time Someone born in 1952 wouldn't care about measures till they were 10 to 20 years old, well into decimalisation. It's probably more to do with aligning with the US (for imports) than anything else. 路 2 years ago

@mc Good link. Sobering to think that you could talk to someone today who knew someone who'd lived like that. 路 2 years ago

Such outlandish claims need to be backed up with a link. I can only imagine the Daily Mail being stupid enough to suggest such nonsense, though admittedly we've not been short of national stupidity of late. 路 2 years ago
