Yech. Got Covid 20 days after the fourth vax (second booster). Very disappointing.

I also got Covid after being vaccinated. The symptoms were indeed like the flu. 路 9 months ago

Just to clarify, when I said I could 'power through it', I meant, in isolation, of course. Don't want to get anyone sick and am locked away in a room. Sharing a bathroom seems to be OK (wearing a mask and wiping handles with bleach).
I don't think Covid is _that_ contagious if you are careful. 路 9 months ago

I got sick two weeks after the fourth shot;
The symptoms are very mild; mild enough that I could have pretended I am not sick and powered through it, but decided to take it easy.
My partner did not get sick (natural immunity from being sick two months ago) even though, this time, I coughed all over her for two days prior to testing positive.
Many sources (yeah, I know) suggest that the fourth booster does not do anything. Others say the symptoms are reduced. Some suggest mixing brands (I wish I got a Moderna shot for a change). There is a lot of noise.
I am certainly grateful for the vaccine. It's not 100%. 路 9 months ago
Thank you for your responses. I've lived though much worse flus, and it is more of an inconvenience. Some muscle/joint aches, a very runny nose, a little cough and a sore throat. Third day after testing positive, feeling almost normal.
So here is what I know:
The first time around, unvaccinated, I almost died from a hypertensive crisis;
After two shots and one booster, I did not get sick even though my partner coughed pretty much on me for a couple of days before testing positive; 路 9 months ago
@nristen Even that much isn't true in my experience. I got fully vaccinated (2 shots) then got COVID a month later same time as my wife. Our symptoms and severities were nearly identical despite her not being vaccinated. I haven't bothered with any of the boosters for obvious reasons.
Here's to a swift recovery Stack. 路 9 months ago
I heard that the vax was only supposed to reduce the symptoms. If this is really the case then when people catch it but the symptoms are reduced won't they be more likely to mingle with others further spreading it? So the intended purpose is what again? 路 9 months ago
Been hearing the same story from so many people lately that i've come to the conclusions that
1. the boosters are placebos
2. the actual severity of covid was oversold, its more or less like the flu 路 9 months ago
