I had a bizarre meeting at work today. It felt like an intervention 
for a senior specialist who couldn't work out how to work through a 
problem. He kept asking for information just for everyone to say they 
provided it. A programme manager kept asking if he would produce a 
specific output for a date. It makes you wonder how some people end up 
in a senior role. He is about 4 levels above me and he must know 
something to get there. It feels like we are trying to get a technical 
and disorganised mind to be organised and focus on planning. It was so 
bizarre that I got several phonecalls immediately after where people 
were asking what went on. 

I start 3 weeks off work now. Some is enforced unpaid time off but it 
means there will be fewer e-mails. I am heading to my parents for a 
week or so which means dog time! Up to 4 if my brother visits my 
parents too. Always good. 

The weather should calm down and return to sensible low 20s Celcius 
too. I still became a sweaty mess earlier. Bring on the cooler 
weather! 

Time to see what traffic is doing before I drive home.
