Midnight Pub

never meant to be

~tffb

Either the Internet Gods(TM) want me to never make a friend online, or my WiFi service has become sentient and drops my signal every time I write something kind to a colleague - but, I just wrote a 3rd(!) post on M.p, and a couple (very good) posts on my Ghost blog several days before that (which I have retired the Ghost blog, by the way - sticking to the old platform for journaling/communicae), and they were all "lost to time and space" due to the entry (the text, itself) not auto-saving in the browser, or the cookies *within* the browser, or however the hell it works.

So. disappointing. when that happens :(

Anyway, I <3 The Midnight, truly, (and all the patrons here), but I can't put more stuff here (besides a quick reply sometimes, maybe) if the words disappear in the end.

(and yes, I *could* put the entry in an offline editor, and copy/paste the words into the textarea of a/the blog platform, but at that point, why not just have a "Select File" system and upload a .md file? That could/would never happen - pure sarcasm).

Back again, I hope. Love to all. And I hope this entry posts correctly :)

Technology is such a fickle and frustrating thing to work with sometimes.

That sounds really frustrating.

I installed a plugin for my browser to let me edit posts in a text editor for this reason — then the first time I tried it, it didn't fill the textbox when I saved and the editor window went away; I thought I had just lost a wall of text.

Fortunately, the buffer was still open in the editor, and I could switch to it in another frame, but still. Close one.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me! ;-)
