As a web dev, the more I learn about Gemini the cooler this protocol is. I make music, and what I think Gemini has the potential to be is a kind of haven for folk-art, a kind of digital front porch, a place where music, art, writing doesn't get lost in deluge of content.

Additional features of Markdown like tables and numbered lists are not available in the Gemtext renderer, of course. 路 4 hours ago

@devyl @jo To be precise, Lagrange supports viewing Markdown files using the Gemtext renderer, with built-in ANSI styling for bold, italic, and monospace.

If you've disabled the "View Markdown as source" option, then 'text/markdown' will be automatically converted to the equivalent Gemtext with ANSI styling.

Here's a small test page:

Well if you support markdown you have to also support HTML, since markdown includes it. And what flavour of markdown would it be? There are many different dialects. 路 6 hours ago

The same here - besides the music part :) back to simplicity is the way to go. I like elegant KISS design in my daily work so gemini is a awesome protocol, imho. But i would really like to have markdown support in amfora and lagrange. Just like normal markdown viewers/interpreters support html - which has no place here. 路 6 hours ago
