~bartender, a recyclable Dixie cup of warm 1800 tequila, please!

(yes, that kind of a day....)

<transfers freshly-computed crypto to the jukebox; engages 10 consecutive plays of Duran Duran's "Ordinary World">

My wife's off to an evening school function related to 8th graders moving on to high school. I just downed a store-bought pre-made turkey sandwich while continuing to marvel in this day's meteorological vacillations.

It's starting to look like my credit card saga with UHaul has been more the result of some glitch with the bank I've my credit card through. Can't prove it, but UHaul insists they've not repeatedly charged me what to this point is roughly $400 for a $70 bill.

So I've got to do one of the several things I completely suck at: be patient.

(Heh... realized for the first time how those words are a notch up more fascinating - if not accurate - when taking 'patient' in the medical sense....)

Sitting out front for a smoke awaiting a builder showing up to collect a check for services somewhat rendered. Perfect temperature, relatively still (prefer the alcohol-related meaning, but...).. and of COURSE typing that was soon followed by a bit of a gust... perhaps because I was looking for it on a day from Murphy's wheelhouse...?

<arrival, payout, pleasantries, back in the keyboard saddle again>

The older I get, the more essential sunglasses seem to be.

I could really go for a good game of sucker-someone-into-believing-I-can-hardly-play pool/billiards....

Helo, Inquiry, and pardon the absence... sounds like your credit card thing is part and parcel of larger credit card processing outages that have struck recently...

Luckily there is a pool table off to a side room of the bar, Inquiry! I'll play ya, but I have to warn you, i aM TeRrIbLe At iT - never won a game to impress someone or to win money. Ever. I swear it ;)

Honestly, it's been years since I've played pool, but I used to play daily when I was at Job Corps, and was very good at it very quick.

Anyway, enjoy the tequila! I am off the sauce these days, have been for a while, I plan on staying that way, too. I hope the U-Haul/bank fiasco works out, too, and you get refunded soon.
