Why Every Gemini Capsule Matters

Yes, even the effectively empty ones.

Context

Sometimes when looking through the world of capsules out there you are aiming just to try and find something interesting. If you're looking for something interesting it can be frustrating to see dozens of capsules that are relatively boring looking blogs (don't worry, I include mine as one of these too). Even more annoying can be finding all of the capsules that are no more than a "Hello World" or even worse, just... nothing.

With Gemini, it's hard to find interesting capsules and resources. They are out there, but it's hard to find. Part of this is the arguably low readability for complicated applications on Gemini, like a search engine.

The way I most commonly find new capsules is using Bleyble's random capsule page [1]

I'm certain I'm not the only one.

Now I don't have a solution to this, because I think this is a bigger problem with the state of Gemini and its capabilities being generally underutilized.

What I do want to say though is that every single capsule matters even if they are objectively lacking in content or not something you find interest in.

Why?

Well, every single capsule was actually made by someone. Someone with their own life, own experiences, who decided to try out this niche protocol and make a capsule just to see if they could.

This is a common area every single one of these people including you have found themselves in. It's a shared experience.

If someone took the time to set up a server and write a Gemtext document, we should give it the time to read it or explore it.
