A Poem for Blasphemy Day
October 8, 2022

the last time someone told me I should get with Jesus
well, Jesus Rolando Olivera and I, we tore up the town
just two sons of ill intent getting proper bent
taking side-bets as to which one would later retch
hands down first on the thirty-yard line
at that stadium we found, complicating come morning
some security folks and the bloke with the job of painting

don ��t worry, we said, it ain ��t blasphemy until
hang on a sec  �� ok, now it ��s blasphemy
looks like Jesus can ��t hold his tequila this year

ascending in golden light
from the welcoming arms of the law
claiming later both power and tequila
were best recognized in the abusing
