River And Tied

t ��was adjacent to flames in dark, beside oil dip and forge
a barrel on a stick with a honeyed scent and horns
labelled in an ancient script, melancholy and forlorn
take sip o mortal kin, and swiftly come thy wings

aye, blacksmith folding water-steel did grin where  ��er we gazed
lifted crank from river ��s gears, broke cups from by the bellows
flexed his entire mighty self to slowly turn that barrel ��s tap
then to each barley ��d cup a drop of summer ��s joy was added

so rouse the song a-singing and by the shores of drift-along
maintain recovery position or swim, ye hammered of the gods
