01/09/2021 (things i learned)
- that i can learn like 4 fluid mech formulas in 2hours shows importance of motivation
- Oversimplifying conceptions of animism and hinduism... very colonizery of me
- OK Philippines, colonized by Spanish. Not something I properly thought about til now
- Pilipinas, about half the size of Indonesia (number of island, people, not area, probably languages?) OH NO they dont have an indonesian language equivalent :(
- OHHH Filipino is the languageee, standardised tagalog
- wow wikipedia is really good haha
- did i write this yet? But i've been thinking about how technicalities are actually really important. However, isolating them can never tell a full story despite being a good learning step
- ok this one i know ive written it before, but "religion isnt spread by novelty it's spread by relations"
- Fuck... Rwandan genocide
- Japan did pay a little for war reparations and some countries actually renounced it, wikipedia lacks sources tho
- I seeee Colloquial Jakartan Indonesian (CJI) is "standard" because of its influence outside jakarta
- Mechatronics has lots of ECSE
- how feasible is a digital time capsule based on expecting certain hashes to be cracked?
- there should be a pic logger app, for specialized/scientific picture/video/audio logging. E.g. meals, rituals, other bodily functions. But privacy and security will have to be really serious. what about data recovery? Syncing? UI would be incredibly difficult. Metadata handling (manual and automated)?
- exactly! CJI book mentioned selfconciousness of language affects it, such a serious problems for learners like me
- I wonder if i should try Ome.tv or omegle
- Lmfao spy watches actually exist. Super unethical but distant future linguists may find it to be a gold mine (colonizer terminology? idk alternatives) of data?
- I think lossless compression serves archival better. Incorporated error correction CRC!
- searched "CRC alternative" on ecosia https://softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/96211/what-is-a-faster-alternative-to-a-crc
- Only reason not to use CRC is when computation is constrained... i guess http://www.ece.cmu.edu/%7Ekoopman/thesis/maxino_ms.pdf
- reimplementing everything in rust is sooo freaking cool dudeeee https://github.com/sourrust/flac but i do have one question: why?
