Antenna may currently be the only one that exists... 2021-09-18T09:26:12+00:00 Apparently the UK wants to switch back to the imperial system of mesaurement. It's like they tried being part of Europe for a few years just to see what it would be like and then decided they didn't like it. 2021-09-19T14:33:52+00:00 LET'S CHAT ON #XMPP 2021-09-21T11:10:41+00:00 @ How do you like Monad? For iOS I heard Siskin is good, but there are only a handful of clients to try on that platform, and I heard many are not good. I guess you're using Monal, which is supposed to be pretty good. 2021-09-21T11:12:38+00:00 @ tilde.team does come with XMPP yes, so you don't need to create a new account, just log in as yourself@tilde.team. For rooms to join you can start with geminauts@chat.kwiecien.us and we can recommend others. #gemini@biboumi.tilde.team connects you to the IRC channel, search.jabber.network is a nice searchable network-wide directory. (It's a web page.) 2021-09-21T15:39:02+00:00 Announcing two new MUC's on XMPP: linguistics@chat.kwiecien.us for linguistics, and persian@chat.kwiecien.us for learning Persian. Anybody who is interested can join! 2021-09-22T10:14:01+00:00 @ That is good news! Congratulations. What will you be studying? 2021-09-24T12:08:10+00:00 @ Oh really which series 2021-09-24T20:36:35+00:00 @ lol I haven't gotten that deep into watching TV shows to consider something like Buffy, but who knows maybe one day. Here we are on season 5 of Vikings... Probably this coming year we're going to be watching a bunch of fantasy shows. 2021-09-26T17:40:35+00:00 @ Sure! 2021-09-27T08:21:02+00:00 @ Lately I got too lazy to ssh into my server in order to edit Gemini pages. (Most of what I do is automated by scripts.) What I ended up doing is having syncthing mirror my entire /var/gemini folder locally to my home directory so I can edit them on a whim. 2021-09-27T08:22:35+00:00 @ Apparently I'm even too lazy to run rsync. XD 2021-09-27T12:44:55+00:00 @ Oh that is neat 2021-09-28T05:45:45+00:00 @ Yeah rsync was mainly my way in the past 2021-11-14T11:52:28+00:00 Failed Delta RPMs increased 137.8 MB of updates to 167.1 MB (17.5% wasted) <- Fedora why do you do this to me 2022-01-14T18:04:30+00:00 Is this thing on? 2022-01-14T21:54:57+03:30 @ I read you! 2022-01-16T00:47:11+03:30 Now twting with twet. 2022-01-16T00:50:01+03:30 Trying with Antenna... 2022-01-16T19:41:50+03:30 @ They didn't accept your changes upstream? 2022-01-19T13:33:03+03:30 OK somehow I lost my last twt... 2022-01-19T13:35:36+03:30 @ew0k/BW I think I like it better too. We just need to gather up a small community of twtxt-over-gemini users and make Gemini an alternative to the Fediverse... 2022-01-19T16:43:01+03:30 @ew0k/BW Do you mean literally a few minutes, or figuratively? :D 2022-01-19T16:55:56+03:30 @ Whoa this is blowing my mind right now... I'm on yarn.social and didn't even know it! 2022-01-19T17:22:32+03:30 (#bwsglma) @ Well let's see if my commandline utility handles this right... This way I can reply to replies at least. I might have to just get on an instance of yarn.social now. :) 2022-01-19T17:44:20+03:30 (#26gwlna) @ Sorry I wanted to see what would happen. If I break something then at least I'll have helped find a bug! (Now if only I can figure out how to get my avatar to work...) 2022-01-19T18:11:46+03:30 (#srexnca) @ ty 2022-01-19T18:52:49+03:30 Enjoying this herbal milk tea with ginseng and something called "tongkat ali". No idea what that is, but it tastes good! 2022-01-19T19:06:31+03:30 @ Seems like mentioning you is kind of difficult because your nick has a slash in it. Clients seem not to like that... 2022-01-19T19:11:15+03:30 (#bwsglma) @ I don't know if there are *that* many, but I hope it grows. The sort of people who use Gemini are probably those who would love twtxt. 2022-01-20T00:24:46+03:30 (#bwsglma) @ I don't think you will need to implement client certificates for the purpose of twtxt. If you only have a Gemini browser you can read my twts on Antenna gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/twtxt.gmi 2022-01-20T00:26:48+03:30 (#bwsglma) @ I mean really you can probably just auto-accept all server certificates and it won't matter. 2022-01-20T00:31:43+03:30 (#nghdanq) @ There are a number of popular Gemini servers, but gemserv might be the most popular. @ If you use OpenBSD, vger seems like a good server and native to that system. It's probably the most secure one. I don't know how Titan is implemented since I've never used it. 2022-01-20T10:30:25+03:30 @ I am currently using jdtron's fork of twet with added Gemini support. I asked krixano if he could use his search engine to crawl twtxt feeds on Gemini, and these are the results so far: gemini://auragem.space/searchengine/twtxt 2022-01-20T11:50:53+03:30 (#f6lc33q) @porlogic Certainly. :D Gemini is #1 wooooo 2022-01-20T12:51:33+03:30 (#2togija) @ At the very least, it's the best at making me happy. :D 2022-01-20T19:12:55+03:30 @ Yeah, thanks @! 2022-01-22T12:35:57+03:30 @ Thanks for the recommendation! 2022-01-22T12:40:35+03:30 (#olijdpa) I agree with standard alphanumeric nicks... twts will be easier to parse when we know nicks can't include any punctuation that will likely follow them in writing. 2022-01-23T23:15:07+03:30 (#anefbyq) It's working! 2022-01-23T23:50:44+03:30 (#4rjll3a) @ pass is not new! :D 2022-01-24T01:03:13+03:30 (#4rjll3a) @ I am not an expert in all the passes but I heard gopass is good too. 2022-01-24T10:20:09+03:30 Good morning 2022-01-24T14:20:57+03:30 (#nbtnxtq) I think I slept alright! 2022-01-24T23:42:42+03:30 (#5gjlm5a) #5gjlm5a test 2022-01-26T22:36:10+03:30 (#tfqezfa) @ Wow, that's pretty amazing! 2022-01-26T22:39:31+03:30 (#7argmtq) @ That's great news 2022-01-28T00:37:32+03:30 (#szpq4ca) @ I actually think Gemini's biggest twtxt problem is not that you aren't notified of who follows you. There are some ways to work around this or just live with it, but from an engineering standpoint I think our achilles' heel is the fact that Gemini servers don't return the unchanged status on the feed, so you have to download it every single time you check. It sounds wasteful, but I guess this can be mitigated by checking your feeds less often and the fact that Gemini is still pretty quick. 2022-01-28T01:21:35+03:30 (#szpq4ca) @ I believe the necessary functionality could be implemented over Gemini using CGI, but such behavior would make twtxt not as simple as it was meant to be. Gemini allows submitting a query string, so yarnd for example could use such queries to tell a Gemini server what it wants, and the server would respond appropriately. 2022-02-20T01:06:54+03:30 I Don't Really Want to Write This Post gemini://warmedal.se/~bjorn/posts/2022-02-17-i-don-t-really-want-to-write-this-post.gmi 2022-02-21T14:34:45+03:30 Drizzling and overcast weather... perfect for coffee and breakfast cake. 2022-03-20T11:21:54+05:00 Android Alpha 7 (Lagrange v1.12 Preview) gemini://skyjake.fi/gemlog/2022-03_android-alpha7.gmi 2022-03-27T21:41:57+05:00 Android Beta 1 gemini://skyjake.fi/gemlog/2022-03_android-beta1.gmi
