Hello, all. This is my first post in my newly-created blog. I will posting here at least twice a week for the rest of this semester as a part of my English 320 class, but hope to continue regular updates even after that. I'll be focusing on school, technology that interests me a particular week, projects I'm working on, and occasional news that I'd like to reflect on. When applicable, I'll include links or images to better convey my message. First, however, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Thor Hanson. I am a third-year electrical engineering student at NDSU. I am also a part of the NDSU honors program. Currently, my expected date of graduation is May 2020. I live on campus, and I am a part-time student worker at John Deere Electronic Solutions. Before coming to NDSU, I lived and went to school in a tiny set of towns in southern Minnesota (about halfway between Minneapolis and Rochester). I graduated from Randolph High School in 2016.
When I'm not doing school-related things, I have a variety of pasttimes that keep me busy. I am a Linux enthusiast (Linux is a family of operating systems; I'll talk about that more later), and I enjoy hobby electronics. I also occasionally like to do digital art in Blender (3d modelling software). More details on some of my projects can be found in the Projects tab on my website. When not doing my usual nerdy stuff, I also enjoy biking or running. When relaxing, I will often listen to podcasts. I particularly enjoy those by Jupiter Broadcasting, as well as the Ask Noah Show.
