Tilde Ephemeral

Foreword

Hello all, I'd like to go to over this project's goals and what the point of it is.

For a long time I've been trying to create my own tilde, but realizing that I don't

currently have the money to do so, have been thinking of other methods that would

result in something similar. Now, I wouldn't call using the following applications

"similar" to a pubnix since they are reliant on a developer as opposed to infrastructure

like a traditional pubnix.

Now, why did I choose that we should use f2f applications mostly compared to IRC on a $5-10

Unix/Linux box? Mostly because, in the case of pubnixes and things like them, you always have

a problem in that someone could easily screw over the entire system. It's based on trust,

that the person who is vetted is who they say they are. Banning and whatnot a person on a

pubnix system is easy enough, but it really depends on how much power you gave them. In a

f2f system, if you find that person is a neo-Nazi, or just in general a very mean and abusive

person, all it usually takes is to forget that person with one click. The damage they can

do is very quickly shutdown.

Besides all that, I want to have fun with new technologies focused on privacy and security.

Every day you hear of breaches into user accounts and such. Tired of dealing with that

worry to be honest.

Goals

1. To use up and coming technologies focused on privacy and security.

2. Make friends!

3. Be artistic!

4. Share knowledge.

Weekly agenda

Once we get started and get more members, I'd like to delve into a weekly agenda.

The primary thing will be starting a art group focused on writing and drawing.

Works will be shared on a communal board.

Everything, however, is optional. You aren't forced to give or recieve anything

from the group.

Apps

The primary app that fulfills my requirements for all this is currently

Retroshare, but other apps could potentially fill in those requirements too.

Other applications I'm watching:

Threema

Matrix

Session

cwtch

Freenet

i2p

Onionshare(Based on Tor), or anything else based on Tor

Final Thoughts

I really hope I can get Tilde Ephermeral going, and develop this idea further.

If you'd like to join, grab Retroshare, make an account and send me your key

via IRC or to my email.
