I never really was a social media person, but unfortunately you're forced to create accounts on there to stay in touch with your friends, especially the younger ones. If it wasn't for them I actually would forget about creating accounts on there.
Generally internet became very trash after 2011 or 2012, it was around time when YouTube was bought by Viacom. Then the corpos started to buy everything you loved. All these dumbass ads appeared and your privacy went to trash.
However! There are nice things about today's internet though - the Fediverse, Neocities and of course Gemini! My only wish is that they should never get bought by some stupid corpos.
