I began by downloading Amfora, and have begun to explore the space, and get the hang of its keybindings and the pecularities of the syntax.

The next step is to establish a presence in the space in the form of a gemlog. It is free to set up, and doesn't require any kind of identification, even an email address, much less a cell phone. You can open an account and post to it in HTML, even over TOR.
