Hardware Hacking Adventures:
2020.12.05 - Currently working my way through the BSidesDFW Hardware Hacking Village tutorials. Today I soldered pins to an arduino nano board and an adafruit Trinket board. Haven't tested that they work yet, but most of the joins look pretty clean to me! By the time I was working on the second side of the nano, I felt very comfortable with what I was doing, and the joins definitely got cleaner. I'm finding this to be an extremely soothing and fun practice, which I expected, but am very glad turned out to be true. It's never fun to find out that the activity you invested time and money into starting to try is something that doesn't bring you joy. I'm glad that's not the case on this one! There were a couple of joins I may go back and try to resolder another day, and there's some additional pins at the top of the nano board that on my pre-pinned board face the other direction that I'd like to solder in, so there's more to do. I have been soldering out on my porch, and the weather is turning chilly, and as my nocturnal self overslept today (I woke up about 5pm) I dove outside to get this done before coffee! I must really like it if it doesn't make pre-coffee me grumble!
