In fact, I will repeat my post from 2017, but there is something to add. For the popular indignation over the years has broken through many times in my comments.
Everyone, I think, is aware of the events in our long-suffering country with members of the banned organization "Jehovah's Witnesses"? The situation is strange, how strange it was in 2017, well there, okay, the decision to decapitate a strange "sect" that has been heard by everyone for so many years, and to deprive it of its legal status, incl. returning the acquired real estate to the country. Somehow this can all be understood remotely, of course.
And now, 4 years later, the processes began on individuals (although the processes were in the 17th). And many processes raise questions. Okay, you can again understand that collecting money raises questions from the state, but not everyone who collected money in the dock. And money and "extremism" are, to put it mildly, different things.
"SI" was banned throughout history in Germany, up to almost the 21st century. They were imprisoned in camps, on an equal footing with the Jews. Under the general support of the Catholic and Lutheran churches, which of course dreamed of returning their flock to the fold of traditional confessions.
Okay, it’s the 1930s, but now it’s the 21st century, guys. With 2% of Christians in the country (well, yes, let's talk about an active flock, and not statistics on the "Orthodox" tick). So, with two percent of active Christians, it is difficult to imagine what kind of lobby can cause harassment of this nature.
And the main question to everyone, just now, when there were rallies in support of opposition movements, only the lazy one did not say the old Soviet joke "when they came for the Jews, I was silent. After all, I am not a Jew."
So what, where are all the civil activists, who wrote me foaming at the mouth, how close we are and how urgently we need to save Russia from Putin? I don’t see any posts, I don’t see any actions, I don’t see purple triangles, as a sign of solidarity with people who are being persecuted. Why are we silent?
Oh, yes, when you came for the Witnesses, you were silent, because you are not Witnesses.
You were worried about the Crimean Tatars, to whom the state really has questions, at least to the asset.
Or do you selectively trust the state or don’t trust it?
As for me, I wrote the same thing in 2017, under the general silence. He even turned to familiar journalists with the initiative to find funds to make a documentary about the events. No, I do not support or share the views of Jehovists. But I would like more open processes, with an understanding of whether it was a crime, and is it not turning into persecution? As far as I remember, Putin said that some kind of nonsense was going on and it was necessary to figure out whether this was persecution for faith. I am personally confused not even by the process, but always by what remains in the shadows when good fellow citizens rush forward to the power to be the executors of the sentence. Mass attacks, denunciations, beatings, etc. This is some kind of darkness. And it is. And this is daily in relation to a bunch of people on any grounds, gays, newcomers, believers, non-believers, women, men.
The problem is much deeper, the problem is in the heads. Anger, anger, hatred, violence. And in contrast to "European values" with a wild inflection. Values that are exaggeratedly presented can justify anything. Well, let's contrast them with real values. Kindness, mutual assistance, help ... And not this all-out fight with each other. It looks more and more like 1918-22, when simply internal social issues caused endless splits. Remember how it ended? Yes! It ended with what such stories end with .. They offered a unified opinion forcibly. And even then everyone liked it.
