• BS in Mathematics from Bates College, followed by MS and PhD at the University of Maryland in College Park. MS work compared the effect of different spatial discretizations on numerical solutions of fluid dynamics equations.

investigated the macroscale evolution of crystal surfaces, first analytically and then with numerical simulations.

• previously worked in various nonprofit and educational institutions throughout the Metro DC area, including one year at the Hyattsville public library, one year with the Latin American Youth Center, and two years as an assistant professor at Washington Adventist University.
