Run by this chap:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Gensler

Now he seems very qualified in many ways, but his current trajectory seems to be pushing various AI & blockchain technologies which to my mind do not define what the term FinTech means. Not least because my experience of a lot of AI in fintech is that it is gibberish designed to make investors salivate who have been hoodwinked by market analysis propaganda

The course does seem to have some nice contextual placing of these technologies in the context of existing practices etc vis a vis blockchain.

The AI sections seem to be little more than relating the terminology

Anyone who has taken up this course? How deep is this course?

The study questions per class don’t give me much hope, and it is done through the School of Management.

There's an attitude on HN that "my bosses who know and study business are idiots and don't understand anything about tech", usually in terms of either wanting bosses to get out of the way or improve themselves so they aren't making bad decisions based on things they don't understand.

This course is probably geared towards those type of people (or educating people who will become bosses one day)! It's a technical course in a management school, it's not for programmers. It's not as in depth as it could be because that's not what it is intended for. This should be exactly what the people complaining about bosses making bad technical decisions should want, but I think people just want to complain instead.

What's the joke?

Management just does't know about tech.

I haven't taken the course yet. It is very new, I doubt many gave. From the intro, it seems that it's more conceptual than technical, the goal seems to be to understand how technological innovation leads to financial innovation.
