( got to say, I like the little hover effect in Quotebacks, which lift the blockquote oh-just-so-slightly from the surrounding text. nice visual emphasize )

[1] The X Windows selection mechanism is quote sophisticated and
supports multiple MIME types (no, really!). I have some text
highlighted in Firefox (under Linux) right now, and I can grab
(among other values):
text/html With the HTML
UTF8_STRING sans HTML
text/x-moz-url URL of the page
