-------------------------------------------------------------------------------| The Crappy Software Series -------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Ok, so I realize that I haven't written a phlog post in a long time. I don't usually try to write very convroversial blog/phlog posts. In fact, blogging and phlogging is very new to me - I never did it before joining gopher. So, I've decided to write a series of posts called the "Crappy Software Series" in order to highlight the major problems with software nowadays and possibly where I think it's coming from and how we might be able to fix it (some of my, unannounced, projects are working on fixing these problems). I've been thinking about this series of phlog posts for a while, and I've already gathered some notes on the first post that I want to make. Here's a list of the posts that will be written. This list will be continually updated with new planned posts and posts that have been published (but not added to the list yet): * Crappy Linux and Unix * [Related] Linux is an OS, Not just a Kernel * Crappy Windows * Crappy Web Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, and Edge) * Crappy Shells (including Window and Unix Shells) * [Related] Crappy Programming "Design Patterns" and "Practices" * [Related] Counter: Artistic Restrictions My goal is to hopefully create a post every week, we'll see how it goes! Note: I reseve full right to change my mind or edit any of my posts. If an edit has happened, it will be noted at the top as well as on the gophermap.
