This year (2023) has been one of the most stressful for me in a long time. I started a master's program while working full time and acting as de facto caregiver for a spouse. All are more or less thankless jobs and all under compensated. You have to pay to be stressed out by school! There have been numerous studies of the negative impact of stress on the brain and body so I'm sure the long-term outcome will be less than optimal. In the meantime I am overworked and having a rough go of it. Not everything is terrible of course but it is all stressful.
