are you using notion for your second brain. I have a doc file that i kind of use as a second brain but it's mostly used as an instruction manual for my mentees.
I also am trying to write more on actual physical notebooks. I have also started keeping a commonplace notebook for that explicit purpose.
Second brain is an idea that i've been wrestling for years without any proper or consistent action/approach/ Maybe that will change this year.
I love the idea of creating a wiki with every information one knows and deems to be useful for future people. kind of like a lonely archivist floating in zero gravity
hi there, ~sonam!
no notion here (i have messed about with obsidian before, though), my setup is pretty boring and minimal for writing it all out, lol
i have in the /wiki folder markdown (.md) entries that, when they're ready, I convert into .html files with the matching stylesheet for my website.
my notes before becoming 'official' wiki entries usually end up being `$wiki-subject.md` and then, whenever it's ready to go into the wiki under its appropriate category, it's moved over to html.
I know what you mean on physical notebooks, as well! i keep one handy by my machine for those little ideas I want to jot down, and I keep another small notebook in my backpack for if I come up with ideas or want to take note of something while on the go. there's just something about keeping some of those transitory thoughts on physical paper, instead of just in the digital realm.
i definitely think second brain/wiki stuff is a lot of fun to do if it's something that appeals to you. i had been thinking about it for awhile myself, and sometime this year something 'clicked' when i found the XXIIVV wiki section. it was really well thought out and very well put together, and made me finally want to put together the wiki of my own.
happy to say it's finally coming together. hoping to have the rest of it knocked out by this coming friday. it'll never be 'done' of course, as I'm sure to be adding new things to it every now and again, but the initial entries will be ready to go. :-)
