Midnight Pub

November

~lacklustre_saint

Hours melting away, days pass in a blur, weeks vanish and even months drain like autumn rain.

The world has become bleak and dormant, every shade is a member of the congregation of brown, thriving in the decay of summers demise.

My world has once more become sharp edges and bruises on top of other bruises. Meds no longer work, problems mounting and I feel gutted once more.

I'm again forced to visit my local alienist, again forced to drag myself bloody through the desert of my past trauma. Will I come out whole this time?

Bar person, give me a green tea

Best wishes on your slog through trauma swamp. Take good care of yourself. Green tea is a good choice. I take white tea when I can, it brings me calm and a sense of well-being.

Have you ever suffered from seasonal affective disorder? The lack of light and the drabness of the colours can be a drag on the mood, especially in the more northerly latitudes. Some folks I know invested in one of those special colour-balanced lamps that apparently help a lot.

The bitter cold of wintertime has always been good for my pains, personally. The trick is to hike until you're no longer cold. Fifteen minutes of absolute suck and shivering, then your body numbs up and you can just zone out and feel the cold wind nipping your cheeks.
