Re: "I really don't have schizophrenia"

That’s a really good thing! I think you can be aware that the voices aren’t real, and as you say, it will still give you a lot of stress. Honestly you don’t need to have that. Medication does help. And these things ebb and flow; you might have periods in the future where the symptoms are stronger, and telling what is real and what isn’t might become harder.

If you mistrust your doctor, would you consider getting a second opinion?

you are right that I should take medicines and I do (not regularly but whenever I don't feel fine). I really hope I don't get to the point where I couldn't tell what real and what's not. I also made a post about it on Lemmy talking about my concerns.

i take some medication myself for anxiety (fortunately on my way out of it now!) and the thing is you usually need to keep taking the meds even when you feel fine because they have a cumulative effect. that means that your body needs to reach a "saturation point" when you have a given dose of the medicine in your system which you then need to maintain at a steady level. it makes such a big difference! it's so worth it imo.

Well, I don't have schizo, but OCD. Once I started hearing things, and it got me very stressed.

I did anamnesis with my doctor, in the end he said I didn't sleep well (in the early night and wake up in the morning, like we meant to be in nature in our species) and it affected my Circadian Rhythm. He explained it is the self-fixing of the brain. I started regulating my sleep and got a lot better. In the end I started tooking the medication to sleep and got fixed 6 hour of good sleep at least every night. after almost 13 years of OCD, in one year my illness is gone, i manage alone with self therapy.

It may not be your problem, but... Some SLEEP will not get you any problem.

Also, my doctor said to me one thing: Even a person that have perfect genetics can get schizophrenia or other serious mental ilnesses with sleep deprivation, and it happens a lot in war.

Again, it might not be your problem. You must consult another certified psychiatrist. BUT a good night of ininterrupt sleep will not do you any ill.

I really don't have schizophrenia — are there schzophrenic out there who doesn't look like well schizohprenic... yeah I am one of them. you could talk to me, hand out with me and talk about tech, privacy and you won't even feel you are talking to someone who is schizophrenic. I don't know if I should take meds or not since It's affecting my life very midly. very rarely I "detach" from reality and start talking in my head and if someone calls me at that time I will be back. again very rarely I...
