Re: "I've found that all the 3D printing portals and communities..."
i know i sound lame, but from tme to time i was searching for such 3d object libraries and never found a non commercial community which shares models under some kind of free license like cc. i think i didnt find a commercial place too, and i dont know what would be a free or close to coyleft license for a 3d model. but still, would be great if you listed some sites/communities and some comments maybe about them.

I think it's better if you link your own 3D models on a specific topic rather than just gadgets, toys, merch.
I could imagine an STL CHALLENGE here: post a 3D model on a topic of your interest, via Gemini. I'm thinking of something like tools / models that you use specifically in your own area of interest and maybe have them multiplied using 3D printing.
Does't have to be too complex. I am a newbee in this topic somehow. most oft my own 3d models are in an early stage.
Would anyone be interested in that? What do you think? It was a spontaneous idea, I'm sitting on the train and have a few free minutes...
I've found that all the 3D printing portals and communities are fascinating with their unlimited number of models on any topic, but in the end you end up with sensory overload. Are there other ways? Are there repositories with STL files, for example, here on Gemini? I mean, is anyone working on a specific topic and storing 3D files for it? Thanks!
